Senior detection manager for UKBA in Scotland East, Colin Fraser, said: "This seizure by UKBA staff at Grangemouth Port has prevented a large quantity of counterfeit goods from reaching the market place in the runup to Christmas. "We are determined to prevent this type of fake goods from reaching UK streets. "Criminals who think they can freely smuggle counterfeit items into the UK through regional ports should think again. "This seizure at Grangemouth highlights our commitment in protecting legitimate trade and consumers from unscrupulous criminals and that our regional ports are not a soft touch." Details of the seizure were revealed after HM Revenue and Customs announced last week that it had seized hundreds of counterfeit Nintendo games consoles from around the country.
